All positions require experience and passion for travel, although job-related travel is minimal, unless otherwise noted in the job description.

Software Engineer - C++ backend

As a software engineer at OpTrip, you will have opportunities to work with other world-class engineers to develop the next-generation travel service infrastructure. We are looking for expertise in the following areas: system design, network programming, algorithms, compiler technology, artificial intelligence, operations research, user interface design, web application development, and databases.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science (PhDs with hands-on experience are also welcome)
  • Extensive programming experience in C/C++
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures and networks
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Experience developing large-scale software systems a plus

Software Engineer - AJAX frontend

As an AJAX software engineer at OpTrip, you will have opportunities to design and build the next-generation travel planning visualization interface. You will also enjoy working with other world-class engineers to gain hands-on experience launching a brand-new web service. We are looking for expertise in user interface design, data visualization and AJAX implementation.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science (PhDs with hands-on experience are also welcome)
  • Extensive experience in Javascript programming and user interface design
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures and networks
  • Strong analytical ability
  • knowledge of C/C++ a plus

System Administrator

(starting late 2008)

As a system administrator at OpTrip, you will be responsible for developing, managing and supporting our growing server infrastructure. You will have opportunities to utilize your exceptional technical knowledge and expertise to ensure stability, security and scalability of our corporate network and customer-facing services.

Requirements:

  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive experience in Linux, UNIX or Windows system administration
  • Knowledge of network engineering, network security, TCP/IP, firewalls, NFS, DNS and related tools
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Programming experience in scripting languages

Product Manager

(starting late 2008)

As a product manager at OpTrip, you will work with engineers on new product development, coordinating multiple teams to make sure new features are carried out as planned. One of your main responsibilities includes communicating with external partners or customers on technical issues, obtaining necessary external support for product development. Some travel may be required for this job.

Requirements:

  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Prior work experience as a software engineer, or equivalent programming experience
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Experience with Internet products and technologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in the travel industry a plus

Office Administrator

(starting late 2008)

As an office administrator at OpTrip, you will assist with day-to-day operations of running a start-up office. Responsibilities include selecting and managing external suppliers / vendors for facilities operations, budget preparation and management, and communication with internal business units on logistics issues.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or higher degree
  • Prior work experience in office management
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Some legal and accounting knowledge related to start-up companies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

As a human resource administrator at OpTrip, you will be responsible for finding, recruiting and retaining top talent that is essential to the company's success. Responsibilities include designing and implementing staffing strategies, managing university relations, sourcing candidates through various means, screening resumes, coordinating interviews and managing offer process. Some travel may be required for this job.
